A chemical peel can soften or even eliminate facial wrinkling. Sometimes a chemical peel helps to "fine tune" the results of a facelift or eyelid lift. A peel can work wonders with fine lines around the eyes and lips - areas that are difficult to treat with a facelift. A peel also improves the tone, color, and texture of the facial skin. There are a number of chemical agents that can be used to achieve various depths of peeling. Peels can be very superficial, causing no significant skin irritation, and making very superficial changes to the skin. A deep peel will produce much more dramatic and longer lasting results, but the recovery will be longer.
